TCW was started in 1948 by Howard and Mary George as a warehousing company. Their son Phil took over in 1965 and expanded in to trucking to distribute products TCW was warehousing.
Phil served on the Executive Committee of the Tennessee Trucking Association, was Chairman in 1991-92 and along with Tommy Hodges, started the Tennessee Trucking Foundation in 1993 with the primary purpose of supporting the Tennessee Road Team.
His son, Scott succeeded him as CEO of TCW in 2003. Scott has served on the TTA Executive Committee since 2005, served as Chairman in 2010-2011 and currently serves as President of the Foundation.
