Tommy Hodges Scholarship:
Open to college students and those dually enrolled in Tennessee, this scholarship offers a significant opportunity. Dependents, spouses, or employees of TTA member companies receive additional benefits. This scholarship opens each fall and closes in the winter to students across Tennessee.
Selection is based primarily on a strong, original essay about the trucking industry (please note: AI-generated content is not encouraged), along with a solid academic record. While a good GPA is an important factor, there is no minimum or maximum GPA required.
Selected students may receive a $2,500 scholarship, or $3,000 if they are a dependent of an employee of a Tennessee Trucking Association member company.
Billy White Technician Scholarship:
Designed for aspiring diesel technicians, this scholarship supports technical education to prepare students for a successful career in the trucking industry.
Upon selection for the award, the student will receive a $1500 scholarship payable to the student to be applied to the student’s educational costs.
The second part of the scholarship award will consist of $1000 payable to the student upon successful completion of one year’s full-time employment at a TTA member company. These funds will be given directly to the student with the intention that they are used to offset the student’s educational costs.
Community Scholarship:
The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee offers various scholarships to empower students from diverse backgrounds. These scholarships aim to foster academic and personal growth.
The scholarship application opens on December 1 and can be accessed under “General Scholarships” at Apply for Scholarships – Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
Applications close on February 1.
