What Is the Tennessee Trucking Foundation?

The Tennessee Trucking Foundation (TTF), established in 1993, is the 501(c)3 charitable arm of the Tennessee Trucking Association. The foundation focuses on advancing highway safety, educating the public to create safer roads, and supporting Tennessee children’s charities.

Key initiatives include:

  • Road Team Captains: A statewide highway safety program with professional truck drivers who promote safety through various events like safety training, Touch-A-Truck, the Yellow Dot Program, and Car Fit events.

  • Big Rigs for Little Kids: A golf event that has raised over $2.5 million for children’s charities and the TTF Scholarship Fund.

  • Scholarships: The foundation offers several scholarships to students, including the Tommy Hodges Scholarship, Billy White Technician Scholarship, and various community scholarships administered by The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

  • Annual Auction: A fundraising event held at the TTA convention, where auction items are sold to support the foundation.

  • Annual Raffle: A fundraising event held by the Foundation every December to raise funds for the Tennessee Road Team and road safety events and activities.
