2022 Truck Driver of the year
Each year the Tennessee Trucking Association opens nominations for its Annual Driver of the Year Competition to be recognized at the Truck Driving Championship Awards banquet. Companies are encouraged to nominate the driver in their company most deserving of this recognition.
The 2022 Tennessee Driver of the year has been driving a CMV for 35 years and will be celebrating his 10-year anniversary with his company this Fall. He has just reached his 1 Million Safe Driving Miles with his company all while maintaining his Perfect On-Time Performance record for the last several years. He puts a lot of effort into taking care of customers and helping out with other drivers. He is known for his humility and willingness to help and has wonderful relationships with his supervisors and fellow drivers. He participated in Wreaths Across America in 2021, was Driver of the Month in December 2020, and was awarded his company’s 2021 Driver of the Year Award. He resides in Birmingham, AL, with his significant other, Cynthia Johnson. He has 4 children, 3 sons and a daughter, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. When he is not working, he enjoys barbecuing for his family and fishing.
