TTA Safety Technology Seminar – All About Video Event Recorders
February 27, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am
A Training Seminar Sponsored by the Tennessee Trucking Association
& Presented by Scopelitis Transportation Consulting’s Dave Osiecki
With the ELD mandate in the rearview mirror, many fleets are now thinking about adopting other safety technologies to help improve their driver and company safety performance, and reduce what seems like ever-increasing claims costs. Many are now considering video event recorders.
This new and unique training seminar is designed for fleets that have not yet adopted, or are in the early stages of adopting video event recorders. The seminar will provide fleet representatives with:
- the safety, driver behavior and legal reasons to consider cameras,
- a summary of what the VER safety research says,
- an objective view of the technology available today,
- the pros and cons of the current technological approaches (e.g., forward-facing only camera vs forward and inward-facing, etc),
- some challenges video data may create for fleets,
- company policies and the type of training needed before adopting,
- how video data can be used to coach drivers, and
- the costs and potential benefits of the technology
